Martin Pickford

Managing Director

Martin joined Accentus Medical in 2000 and has over twenty years experience in the organisation and management of orthopaedic companies.

Martin has in depth knowledge of orthopaedic practices and the global market for orthopaedic implants, having worked for the UK's largest orthopaedic device manufacturer Corin, and also Zimmer, one of the world's leading orthopaedic companies.

Before his appointment as Managing Director of Accentus Medical, Martin was Director for International Operations at Corin Medical and previously Vice President Europe for Zimmer Inc and President, Directeur-General for Zimmer France.

Martin leads the team at Accentus Medical, which has become the largest UK supplier of specialist coatings to the orthopaedic manufacturing industry through the development, manufacturing, licensing and exploitation of new technologies in this field.

Martin has also led the development of a new innovative biocidal surface modification process, within Accentus Medical, called AglunaTM.

Martin has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Exeter and a PhD in Chemistry from Portsmouth Polytechnic.   Martin is a published scientist and experienced presenter on issues related to orthopaedic devices and clinical outcomes.

He is an Associate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry, a member of the British Orthopaedic Research Society and Orthopaedic Advisor to the UK National Joint Registry
